Processes

AIT Logistics follows a strict technical routine to ensure that every transport run is executed in an efficient and organised manner. This enables us to extend the highest service quality to customers at every phase of a delivery.

Technical Plan

The Technical Plan involves three major components, namely:

  • Coordination
  • Management
  • Transportation

Coordination

This aspect of the delivery process involves the coordination of material awareness, cargo analysis, mission planning, loading, unloading, vehicle planning, technical assistance and testing of equipment. At this stage, every element of a shipment plan is checked and cross checked with the staff involved.

Management

Here, every feature of the transportation process other than delivery is analysed and planned.

The customer’s request for delivery date and location is prioritised and scheduled depending upon type of shipment, risks to delivery and contingencies. Staff are briefed and notified of times and deadlines.

Then we review the entire order so that a realistic time-frame and delivery date may be decided upon.

Transportation

Transportation is the process of loading goods at a start point, and then its delivery to a customer at a given location.

Goods and stock are loaded with the utmost care ensuring cargo is protected from damage during its journey. Once the shipment reaches its destination, drivers are required to get an invoice signed by the recipient. This ensures that the goods have reached on time and safely. Only when this is done do we process invoices and bill clients.

Auxiliary Services

Our auxiliary services are included in every transportation order.

These services guarantee additional management, quality and security checks for all our missions. They include

  • Quality Assurance Programme
  • Dispatch Plan
  • Escorts and Armed Guards

Quality Assurance Programme

AIT has instituted and maintains a total quality control programme, including:

  1. Threat assessment
  2. Site security teams
  3. 24/7 surveillance with warehouse access control

Our security team consists of four personnel who prepare the containers and trucks before each mission. Head office is informed of any security concerns involving the mode of transportation or the routes selected.

Dispatch Plan

In the Dispatch phase of delivery management, our Project Managers control and manage the use of vehicles during a cargo run. A maintenance officer helps ensure that all operators follow the correct procedures for vehicle dispatch.

Escorts and Armed Guards

For any unforeseen threats to cargo from militia or dacoits, AIT Logistics provides armed guards to escort every shipment. Regardless of where we ship, we assure the success of every one of our deliveries.
